Dr. Michael Kostas had an eventful childhood growing up on a horse ranch in Pennsylvania. He was very active in gymnastics and wrestling. At the age of 15, he sustained a back injury and his father took Michael to an orthopedic physician. He was diagnosed with a dislocated back and was told he would never play sports again. The orthopedic doctor recommended Michael have surgery; his grandfather disagreed with this assessment and then took him to a Chiropractor. To everyone’s amazement, he made a quick recovery just 30 days after beginning his spinal adjustments. He then quickly resumed his competing in school gymnastics and became the team captain. This experience made a huge impact on Michael and inspired him to become a Chiropractor so he could help others with their heath issues.

Dr. Kostas’s goal as a Chiropractor is for each patient to obtain optimal health. He utilizes various Chiropractic techniques and patient education to help his patients achieve this important goal. He educates each patient on crucial subjects such as proper nutrition, correct posture and proper sleeping habits just to name a few.

While some chiropractors use just one technique on every patient, Dr. Kostas uses MANY different techniques, depending on the needs of each individual patient. Dr. Kostas is a chiropractor licensed in the state of Georgia and has been treating patients in Smyrna for over 18 years. Dr. Kostas was admitted into Michigan States highly esteemed Honors College program graduating with a B.S. degree in 1976. He then attended Life Chiropractic College where he graduated with honors in 1981, earning the degree of Doctor of Chiropractic. Unlike Medical doctors whose education concerns all areas of the human body, Chiropractic focuses on the spine and its associated neurological structures and muscle groups.

Dr. Kostas lives on a farm in the Marietta area with his wife and their large family of nine children. In addition to their human family, the Kostas’s share their land with a variety of farm animals, including horses, chickens and dogs. Living on a farm keeps their children grounded and provides an interesting and entertaining lifestyle for everyone.
